Wilderness Ridge Golf Course

Lincoln is the state capital and thriving home of the University of Nebraska. It was originally founded around salt mines, where saline springs bubbled to the surface of a dry lake bed. Home to fine culinary and artistic treasures; a budding live music scene; breathtaking parks, golf courses, and trails and a friendly Midwestern attitude, Lincoln offers the exhilaration of a big city and the serenity of the countryside all in one place

Wilderness Ridge Golf Course is located adjacent to Lincoln's Wilderness Park. The golf course was built by Landscapes Unlimited. The course was designed utilizing the applicable standards of The Environmentally Friendly Golf Course as written by the United States Golf Federation. There are no homes on the western edge bordering Wilderness Park. This reduces light pollution and allows for a natural barrier between the park and residential development. To give the course a mature feel, more than 3,000 new trees were planted and 2,000 mature cedar trees were relocated on the property.
22 lakes with four large waterfalls interwoven into a mile and half of streams wind through Wilderness Ridge Golf Course. The Championship golf course offers the advanced golfer a challenge and welcomes the beginner onto its bent-grass fairways. The course is also designed to retain storm water run off further protecting Wilderness Park.
Wilderness Ridge Golf Course has 18 holes of championship golf and a 9-hole, par 32 executive course. The philosophy behind Wilderness Ridge was to build a resort-type facility with a quality playing surface. This philosophy is reflected in everything at Wilderness Ridge, from the housing development and office park, to their golf shop, restaurant, practice facilities and instructional staff.
