Lincoln Stars are a famous name in the world of ice hockey in Lincoln. Lincoln Stars are one of the Tier 1 junior hockey teams which play for the West Division of the United States Hockey League that is commonly known as USHL.
The home ground of Lincoln Stars is named Ice Box and it is situated on the Nebraska State Fair gorunds. The Ice Box is located just beside the Univetrsity of Nebraska in the city of Lincoln. In the season of fall in the year 1996 Lincoln Stars first came to Lincoln and almost overnigt it be came the hot favorite of Lincoln, te capital city of Nebraska.

At the time the leader of Lincoln Stars was Derek Reynolds and Josh Langfield was a part of the team too. Together the team made a record of 40-13-1 in the regular season. This record is marked as the best expansion session in the history of USHL.
Lincoln Stars took the lead in the games with the help of playoffs. The team lost just two games on its way to win the Clark Cup. The tickets of every game of Lincoln Stars were often sold out over night and the scene was not unusual that all the local people are camping outside the ticket conters overnight. Such was the craze of Lincoln Stars. This scenario continued till the year 2002. In the year 1998 the home arena of Lincoln Stars was to be expanded dto acceommodate more people for the USA Hockey National Championship. Later the capacity of the arena was reduced conciderably.
Lincoln Stars has nine playoff sessions in their first ten seasons. The team won the Clark cup for the second time in the year 2003 under the leadreship of Danny Irmen. Famous players likeBrndon Bochenski, Andy Schneider and Josj Langfeld were a part of the team of Lincoln Stars.
