Lincoln, the capital and the second most populous city of the U.S. state of Nebraska, is also one of the Midwest's fastest-expanding metro areas. The county seat of the Lancaster county, Lincoln is one of the few large cities of Nebraska that is not located along either the Platte River or the Missouri River.
