Today, Mike Johanns is known as the 28th United States of Agriculture and the 41st Governor of Nebraska. He was born in 1950 at Osage in Lowa and is a Roman Catholic by birth. Johanns did his schooling from the high school and graduated from St Mary's University of Minnesota, which is situated in Winona. From the Creighton University, Johanns achieved a law degree. After his graduation, he started practicing law in O'Neill and Lincoln in Nebraska. In between 1983 and 1987, Johanns acted as a member of the Lancaster County Board. He also served the council of the Lincoln city from the year 1989 to 1991. In the year, 1991, he was appointed as the mayor of Lincoln. Finally, he was made the Governor in the year 1998 by defeating Bill Hoppner.
In the year 2004, Johanns was appointed by President George W. Bush to replace Ann Veneman, the Secretary of Agriculture. As a result, he canceled the plans to run against Senator Ben Nelson in the year 2006. He offered his resignation as the Governor of Nebraska on the same day. Johanns married to a the former Lancaster County Commissioner and Nebraska State Senator, Stephanie Johanns.
