Astronomy is a particular subject which scientifically deals with the celestial bodies and cosmic phenomena. However , it is Hyde Memorial Observatory, an astronomical center which has made the city of Lincoln proud by its existence. Hyde Memorial Observatory , which is totally maintained and administered by volunteers, has the Holmes lake surrounding it.

This particular astronomical center named after Leicester Hyde, is completely dependent on donations and is absolutely meant for the public. There is no admission charge in this astronomical center. It is the only observatory where the the public can enter without any admission fees. It remains open on each Saturday evening throughout the year. Every Saturday, it is open from 7 pm to 10 pm. There are three telescopes which present the spectacular view of the night sky before the people visiting the Hyde Memorial Observatory, Lincoln.
It is only in the year of 1974 that a team of astronomers, professionals dealing with astronomy, leaders, and members of some local schools and universities conceived the idea to establish Hyde Memorial Observatory. It started its journey with the aid of donation provided by Mrs. Leicester Hyde . Undoubtedly , it also received several other grants from different other organizations and individual people. It is only in the year of 1977 that the public got the license to enter this particular astronomical center situated in Lincoln, USA. Most of the volunteers who administer and manage Hyde Memorial Observatory are members of a particular club which organizes its meetings every month at this astronomical center.
