Lincoln is the capital city of Nebraska, the United States of America. The city of Lincoln is also the most populous city in Nebraska, the USA. There is a mayor-council government in Lincoln, Nebraska. The non-partisan election is held to select the Lincoln city-council consisting of seven members. Four members for the mayor council are elected from the city council district. The other members are elected from outside. Like many other agencies and offices of the United States of America, the planning department, health department and health department of Lincoln operate together. The school district of Lincoln Public School houses the city of Lincoln. Lincoln Police Department is the main law enforcement body of the city of Lincoln.

The only statewide full-service law enforcement agency in Nebraska is the State Patrol. Since 1937, this agency is serving the city of Lincoln as its law enforcing body.
